Mediaeval tiles
This work was a cross curricular project done by Year 7 pupils at Dingleside Middle School, Redditch as part of their work in Art and History. A visit to Forge Mill Museum in Redditch gave the pupils an opportunity to observe and draw some mediaeval tiles from observation. These tiles were made by the Cistercian monks from Bordesley Abbey. Sketches were developed into symmetrical designs using the computer. The resulting print outs were interpreted using traditional techniques in the Art lessons with Sian Kibblewhite.
