Right Image - showing still life after being sprayed black
It was introduced by considering the five 'senses' as ways in which it is possible to describe an object in terms of its physical characteristics. This led on to further discussion concerning the visual elements with particular reference to 'form','shape','texture',and'tone'.We talked about 'perspective' and 'composition' as key aspects of the unit. Pupils were then shown a still life group which had been sprayed using black aerosol paint - the emphasis now being placed on 'form' and 'tone'.
