Self Image ( QCA Unit 7a Self Image)
This work was done by Year 7 pupils at Nunnery Wood High School, Worcester with Paul Long.
Starting Point -
This module of work seeks to explore the use of language and imagery. Pupils discuss words which describe their characteristics and use magazines / newspapers etc. to create a collage of each word. This also provides the opportunity to consider different aspects of typography. Pupils take a digital photograph of themselves and then using Adobe Photoshop combine the two images - having scanned the collage - on different layers, using some of the effects inherent to the software e.g. changing the opacity of each layer; applying filter effects etc.
